Zumbathon 2011

Zumbathon 2011
It was awesome, exhilarating and fun.
I found that I have more stamina than I thought I did and that's a good thing.
I found out that two hours of zumba can be fun.
I found out that two hours of zumba won't kill me.
I also found out that seeing so many people come together for a common cause is very inspirational and I was proud to be a part of it.
The numbers aren't in yet, but I know we raised a good amount for the American Heart Association. Awesome!
I only stopped once during the actual event to take some pictures. They weren't very good because I just wanted to get back out there. This was the best one.

These wonderful women were the heart and soul of Zumbathon 2011.
Meet Kelley, Irma and Nicki.

If you want to read Nicki's amazing story about her heart experiences, here's the link to my story about her at the Sisterhood.

And this is Jimmy, a former preschooler of mine and Kelley's son.
He Zumba'd till he dropped.

Last but not least, I found out this morning that two hours of zumba will really make your ankles hurt and make you sleep like a baby.

  6. I obviously didn't work hard enough. My knees and feet hurt while we were zumba-ing, but I don't ache any more than usual today. It sure felt good to get up and move! I'm glad it was successful. Next time, we need to raise more even more $.

  7. So glad you're still enjoying Zumba. Anything that keeps us moving is wonderful. Today has been gorgeous so I've played tennis, rode my bike and I'm about to do at least 30 minutes on the treadmill before we go out to dinner. Don't want to feel guilty about what I eat tonight since we're going to one of my fav places.

    HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY sweet friend!
    Hugs,
    Kat
