In the week we were apart, Dick hadn't changed at all. He was still up at the crack of dawn and thought I should be too. I protested as long as I could and finally gave in. I got dressed and we went down for breakfast at the hotel. After we ate, we headed into Washington DC to just look around a little. We had the reunion in the afternoon, but we knew we were going to DC tomorrow. We just wanted to get our bearings and decide what we wanted to do. I took a few pictures as we passed by a few familiar sites.
We weren't gone too long. We came back and I jumped in the shower and got ready for the reunion. We met Vickie, Paul, Victor and Victor and Vickie's dad, other brother and nephew in the lobby and headed to Uncle Mike's house. Here comes the dumbest thing I did all day. I left for the reunion without my camera!!
We got to Uncle Mike's and had a great time. Dick and Paul were the bean bag champions. Dick somehow got convinced to play volleyball. He was a little sore on Sunday morning. We had a blast playing Draw It. It is the Valadez take on Win, Lose or Draw. So much fun! It was great to everyone again. It was a fun day.
Here is the one picture I have of the day. Dick took it with my phone. Lucy (sitting in the sunglasses) said she brought a chocolate pie and did we want some. We all said yes. She came back with the pie and a handful of forks. We all laughed and dug in. We ate the whole freaking thing. It was yummy. It was time to leave and say goodbye to everyone. We weren't going to be there for Day 2 of the reunion. I had such a good time with everyone. Being an honorary Valadez is a true blessing. They are some of the best people I know.
That was Day 10. Very picture free. That's okay. I'll make up for it tomorrow.
So glad you were able to join us nancy and dick! Looking forward to doing again in DC next year : )
ReplyDeleteYou took some great pictures of DC. Sometimes it's nice to not be behind a camera all the time and enjoy the moments. Great picture of the chocolate pie eating contest! The Valadez family sounds like a great family to be a part of.
