Heather had a great comment on my You Capture post. She said I should post the two choices I have for a new camera and get feedback from my readers who might have them. Great idea!!
The two that I am thinking about are the Nikon D40 6.1 MP Digital SLR with an 18-55mm AF-S lens and the Nikon D3000 10MP with an 18-55mm f-3.5-5.6 G AF-S DX VR Nikkor zoom lens. If anyone has either of these cameras, I'd love to hear what you think about them. Thanks!
We're actually going to be ordering a D40 soon :) Seems like you get an awful lot for your $$. The hubby knows more than I do about it though - he's the one who looks at all the reviews. I just like to take pictures! You'll love whatever you get though! :) Hurray for new cameras!
ReplyDeleteI have the D40 and I LOVE IT! It takes EXCELLENT pictures and is so easy to learn how to use it. I purchased an hour session with a tech to go over the camera and its features, which was really helpful.
ReplyDeleteI have the Nikon D40X and I LOVE it. With the point and shoots I tended to miss the shots I wanted the most. This one takes a pictures every time I want it to. And the resolution is good enough that if only a part of the picture is good, I can crop and still get a really good picture. I am so excited for you and kudos to your hubby for getting you such a great gift and in such a timely manner! Yippeeeeee! (I don't know about the Nikon D3000, but if it's not an SLR, I'd go with the D40(X) if possible.)
ReplyDeleteOk, so... Lucas came home tonight bearing gifts :) He brought home a Nikon D3000, and honestly, it's so wonderful! I just posted a few pictures on the blog from us goofing around with it tonight. He said it wasn't a whole lot more, and it has some more updated features, as it's going to replace the discontinued D40. I'm so in love with it, so much more fun than the old point and shoots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift...and I love the feedback. I have point and shoot and its disappointed me lately. I am on the search for new cams and cam info. This is great.
