It is the solid 1-pounders that stay off. Your body is reacting the way it should react. I am always nervous when people announce giant weight losses. Often, their bodies and muscles cannot quite compute this and the pounds come back. I also agree that mixing things up does excite new muscles. I am now in Week 5 of my sprint triathlon training, and I thought I would lose 5-10 pounds with the swimming, cycling and running. I haven't. I have lost 2 pounds. But my body feels better. I have more energy and my muscles are more toned than they have been in years. It's not that I don't WANT to lose, but I am taking my own advice about building muscle and endurance and confidence for the long haul. You are an amazing inspiration to me and so many others, as you see in your comments. It's knowing that others are sticking to a plan and still loving life that make all the difference to me. Still loving life. That's what you do AND STILL LOSE AN ENTIRE POUND. That's what I need to read about!!!!
